Monroe Place Apartments Gives Back to the Children!

Gift Giving at Monroe Place!

The response to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program has been simply amazing! The old holiday saying that “it is better to give, than to receive” prevails at the sight of all the wish-gifts and needs that will go to all the children this year.

We are so proud of our Monroe Place residents! According to D. Simms, “I have been in the business over 12 years and I have never seen a response like I have seen from our residents, vendors and employees.”

Some of the larger donations this year include: roller skates, Barbie dolls, school uniforms, bedding and toys. It’s certainly beginning to look and feel like the holiday season around here.

If you have not had a chance to sponsor an Angel, and would like to do so, please stop by and grab a little Angel’s wish list from the tree. The pickup and collection date has been extended to December 2nd, so hurry on down to the leasing lobby and make a child’s wish come true.

You may continue to give all year-long, but we thank all of you for all that you have given of yourselves this holiday season!

Happy Holidays!

I’d Like to Solve the Puzzle, Pat!

Today, I will go easy on you and spare you of any heavy reading. With that said, how about something to jar your brain and get the electricity firing up-top! Do you enjoy playing games online?

Try This!

Can you solve the puzzle?

Here’s how it works:

By changing one letter with each subsequent entry, and leaving the other three letters in their original spots, come up with four-letter names that complete the monikers of ten famous people. The bookends are actors – you’ll begin with James COCO and end with PERI Gilpin. In between, you’ll find singers, film characters, sports stars, and even a famous mathematician. Note that the names may be of people real or fictional, and alive or dead. Good luck!

If you give up here are the answers. Good Luck!

Laughter Through Tears is My Favorite Emotion!

Here at Monroe Place we love to laugh and have a great time! We are always sharing stories of the day and making each other laugh with catch-phrases and funny lines from a movie! What are some of your favorite lines from your favorite movies?

I am a sucker for a tear-jerker flick that makes me laugh and cry all at the same time. Here is a clip from one of my all-time favorites, Steel Magnolias! I’m pretty sure that if they ever made a Trivial Pursuit game, solely centered around classic lines from movies, I would do very well. Would you want to be on my team? LoL 🙂

Here is one of my favorites! (Of course, I’m partial to Sally Field, anyway!) Do you have an all-time favorite movie?
