Monroe Place Apartments Gives Back to the Children!

Gift Giving at Monroe Place!

The response to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program has been simply amazing! The old holiday saying that “it is better to give, than to receive” prevails at the sight of all the wish-gifts and needs that will go to all the children this year.

We are so proud of our Monroe Place residents! According to D. Simms, “I have been in the business over 12 years and I have never seen a response like I have seen from our residents, vendors and employees.”

Some of the larger donations this year include: roller skates, Barbie dolls, school uniforms, bedding and toys. It’s certainly beginning to look and feel like the holiday season around here.

If you have not had a chance to sponsor an Angel, and would like to do so, please stop by and grab a little Angel’s wish list from the tree. The pickup and collection date has been extended to December 2nd, so hurry on down to the leasing lobby and make a child’s wish come true.

You may continue to give all year-long, but we thank all of you for all that you have given of yourselves this holiday season!

Happy Holidays!

How much do you use Facebook?  And how do you attract attention to your wall?  How relevant do you feel the information posted on Facebook should be?  Through the help of a friend, I recently stumbled upon a Facebook fan page called…

Apartment Social Media Dance Steps

…which had a great article, located under the Notes tab, about how to attract fans to your wall posts.  In keeping with the idea on how to attract fans to the community’s Facebook fan page, let’s take a look at some of the suggested tips.  See if you agree and give some feedback on what you think works the best.

  1. Video: Video is a very powerful way to increase interest in your post. If you plan a post, be sure to do a search in Youtube to see what is available in videos to add to the post.
  2. News you can use/blogs.
  3. Guide based information portals / Wiki: The Guides’ sites consist of articles or commentaries written by the Guides as well as links to pertinent websites related to their topic. Some sites have dictionaries, how-to lessons, and free eCourses.
  4. Colorful pictures FREE from Google: Look for pictures that make you want to be a part of the event.
  5. Websites: There are millions of websites… You’ll be amazed at what you will find with a few carefully chosen key words on Google.

This post from Apartment Social Media Dance Steps has some really helpful suggestions to increase fanbase and topics.  I would love to see a post about a favorite topic that just goes on and on.

“Each time you share a post on your Facebook Fan page you should be serving your fans. It should be interesting, all about them, make them want to find out more and SHAREABLE!! Your most valuable Fans are your residents and your future residents.” -Toni Blake

Do you agree or disagree? Do you believe in what is said?  Have you come across a different resource that has other suggestions on what you should do to increase popularity of your page?

Christian the Lion Remembers His Owner Well

Most of us are all well aware that YouTube is a website that allows you to share your videos with friends, family, and the world.

But sometimes we come across a video that warms the heart. There are so many videos that seem to out-of-this-world and so ridiculous that they are not worth adding to the playlists.

I recently stumbled upon this one about a man and his lion, and thought I would share it with you. I found it be very moving and uplifting. Perhaps, like me, you will find that the connection between man and animal is not as far apart as once believed.

Will this one become one of your favorites?

Package Room Gets A Facelift!

Don't let your holiday packages pile up!

Attention Residents!

The package room has received a facelift! The packages will now be placed according to your building number!

The numbers are quite large and visible. 1000 starting to the left as you walk in and going all the way around to 7000 to your right. Please feel free to stop by and check it out if you are expecting a package!

We feel this will be a great system to help everyone find their packages!
